Not only do you have to take yourself along, you also have to find yourself through travelling. A lot of people only realise this after lots and lots of travelling. Once you really found your true self, you have to then make sure not to lose yourself along the way, just like the quote says. It might sound strange that you have to be able to 'take yourself along', but most people never even begin to get to know themselves at all.
